How Time Period works?

Keyavi Users

Data protected with an authorized time period, adds another layer of protection to the data. It gives the data owner the ability to put a time limit for when access to the data begins and expires, for example, before and after a business meeting.

If a time period isn't provided, access to the protected data doesn't expire and can be opened at any time (unless revoked). Like all Keyavi policies, the time embargo policy can be modified even after the file is shared.

When a file is protected by Keyavi with a time embargo, the API will reach out to the server to get the time embargo policy and check the date and time on the server. If the date and time is not during the start and end date provided in the policy set by the data owner, the file will not open.
