Keyavi Users and Administrators

All internal licensed Keyavi users are either provisioned as "Read Only" or "Full Access" users. While Full Access users have the ability to both protect and open Keyavi-protected (IKD) files, Read Only users are only able to open IKD files. However, if a Read Only user is able to protect files as well, this may indicate that they were provisioned with the incorrect Keyavi Security Group in Azure Active Directory or there may be multiple instances of the Keyavi Desktop Application running on their device.

Check if multiple Keyavi Desktop Applications are installed

Check if there are additional instances of the Keyavi Desktop Applications installed, by navigating to Windows Search Bar, search for Apps & Features, and then look for Keyavi and you should see only one Keyavi program, version, and date.

When multiple Keyavi desktop applications are installed, it is recommended to close out of all Keyavi applications, uninstall all versions, and then install the most current version.

Check that the user is in the correct Azure Active Directory Group –Administrator only

Check that the user has been added to the correct Keyavi Security Group in Azure Active Directory. Users who should have read only permissions need to be added to KEY_READ_USER_GRP and not the KEY_FULL_USER_GRP in Azure Active Directory.
