Why should I enable native file type support?

Keyavi 2.1.0

Enabling native file type support with Keyavi allows you to open over 150 different file types in their native application when they have been granted Read-only access. Without enabling this native file type support, Keyavi's out-of-the-box option that only allows Microsoft Word (.docx), Microsoft Excel (.xlsx), Text (.txt), Adobe PDF (.pdf), Image (.png, .jpg) to be opened with Read-only access.

This enhanced functionality allows more file types (such as .cad, .epub, .vsd, and more) to be strongly protected with Keyavi since now, as Keyavi read-only files, they cannot be edited, printed, screenshared, or screenshot. For more information on the difference between enabling native file type support or using Keyavi's out-of-the-box file type support, please see What’s the difference between out-of-the-box file type support and native file type support Read-only functionality for the Keyavi desktop application?

In general, Keyavi recommends enabling native file type support so that you can protect more file types as Read-only when necessary. Without this native file type support capability enabled, these files (files other than Word, Excel, Text, PDF, and Images) can only be protected as Full Access which does not restrict editing, sharing, saving, etc. (Read-only vs Edit vs Full Access mode).
